Ancient Mother

As Earth Day approaches, let us pay homage to Mother Earth.
This meditation is the result of Weekend Reboot - Active Dreaming with Valley Reed on Sunday April 8, 2018. I was moved by the experience and wish to share it with you.

Imagine standing in high bushes and foliage of the forest as we search the landscape for recognition. In the distance a tigress arrives to be our guide.
With a blink of her knowing eyes and a tilt of her head, she beckons us to follow.

We make our way as rapidly as we can move. As our way clears, we are at the top of a steep water fall. The tigress paces patiently allowing us to catch our breath. We see before us a waterfall that appears to have no end.
“Follow me.” the tigress seems to say. As she leaps we follow and to our surprise we soar down the waterfall. As we glide down, the air beneath us gently carries us into the earth. Down we go further still.

We are at ease as we glide downward further still until we recognize we are now in the center of the earth.
Our courageous guide leads us forward to the shrine that holds the heart of Mother Earth.

The tigress now paces impatiently back and forth with distress cries escaping from her breath. We see the heart of Mother Earth beat more slowly and more slowly with each moment that passes.

Tigress cries out in a shrill painful call of the wild that draws the animals of the world to come---- and they come to hold vigil for the heart of Mother Earth.

The animals hold vigil, yet the heart of Mother Earth grows weaker as time passes. Our tigress calls out again and the evolved souls of humankind begin to chant the song of life.
Ancient Mother I hear you calling.
Ancient Mother I hear your sound. Ancient Mother I hear your laughter.
Ancient Mother I taste your tears.

Ancient mother I hear you calling
I give my breath, I share my light
I pour my love into you Ancient Mother
For Ancient Mother I hear you calling.

Animals hold vigil, enlightened souls chant and the heart of Mother Earth beats ever more slowly still. As the moments pass, Life seems to fade from the heart of Mother Earth

From deep within the earth the ivy climbs inch by inch carrying her eternal fidelity and love. Around the heart of Mother Earth, the ivy grows, along the way infusing heart with the promise of her steadfast love and immortality.
The heart of Mother Earth begins to pulse once more in rhythm and with strength.

The animals hold vigil, enlightens souls chant, and with the promise of steadfast love Mother Earth lives strong and mighty
Ancient Mother I hear you calling
Ancient mother I hear you calling
Ancient mother I hear you calling

These words are a Native American chant to which I added my words. Ancient Mother I hear you calling. Ancient Mother I hear your sound. Ancient Mother I hear your laughter. Ancient Mother I taste your tears.
