Co-Founder of Unity Defines Our Goals (Myrtle Fillmore)
Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. To be “called out” is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment. Who meddles with the rosebud? What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty? We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding, but our children! Have we dealt as wisely with these buds of marvelous possibilities? Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their own genius? - Myrtle Fillmore
BASIC UNITY PRINCIPLES FOR A LIVING CIRRICULUM
-
There is one Presence and one Power, God.
-
God is individualized in each person as the Christ consciousness as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
-
Prayer is a means to experience the presence of God. Prayer and meditation are ways to “be still and know that I am God” and to accept the spiritual reality of our nature.
-
The law of mind action shows us that our thoughts will reflect the way we experience our daily lives. Through our beliefs, judgments, thoughts, words and actions, we create our perceptions of people, events and activities and choose our responses to them.
-
Practical application of our truth is remembering that we are eternal spiritual beings and allowing that love to fully express in our activities and relationships. We are in the world, and not of, or limited by, the changing world. -Taken from Children on the Quest, “A Living Curriculum”
