Welcome to February 2021.

February is when we celebrate Black History and Heart Month.  We also continue the observance of Ghandi – King Season of Nonviolence.  This is a powerful convergence of energy which truly commands my attention.

During a recent day that I spent in silence, these words arrived on my heart. Perhaps they will be as meaningful to you as they are to me.

Soften my heart that has become contracted with fear and dismay.
Let the chambers be gently massaged to softness with each beat.
May the sweetness of this gift of life pulse in every moment.
Soften my heart with love.

Soften my heart that holds unforgiveness
hidden in its crevasses.  Allow resentments to be let go.
Let the freedom of releasing myself and others flow easily through
this heart of mine.  Soften my heart with forgiveness.

Soften my heart that has forgotten gratitude.
May I see once more the exquisite beauty of creation,
of each moment, of the beginnings and of the endings.
Soften my heart with thanksgiving.

Soften my heart that has forgotten to surrender
I now yield to the ways and the movements of life.
May I pause to see the grace and mercy of your order.
Soften my heart to remember the art of surrender.

Right now, I ask you to take your left hand and place it over your right shoulder.  Take your right hand and place it over your left shoulder.  Squeeze three times.  You have now been loved and hugged by me!  Oh yes, I see you smiling,

Many blessings, much love,

Rev. Karen
