The Trinity of Trinities - Part Three

The final trinity of trinities that we speak of is the Trinity of Mind.   While we, in our human expression, have but one mind,
this mind works at different levels which are called conscious, subconscious, and superconscious minds. In “Christian
Healing”, Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore, says this about the human mind:

In truth, there is but one Mind: in it all things exist.  Accurately speaking
People do not have three minds, nor do they have even one mind; but they express the one Mind in a multitude of ways.

When we speak of this one Mind or Divine Mind, we are speaking of that which is the source of all intelligence that
expresses in all of creation.  We, in our human expression, indeed have our minds that function within the field of Divine
Mind.   We are all interconnected in this Divine Mind.

The aspect of our human mind (within Divine Mind) that affords us the ability to be aware of our thoughts is our conscious
mind.   With our conscious mind we are aware of the seasons, the day and time, the months, our surroundings, weather, all
the physical characteristics of life that we observe and respond to each day.   If we burn our hand on the oven, it is our
conscious mind that says “OUCH, that hurt!”.  Our conscious mind takes in all the stimuli of every moment and experience
during our day and files it away.   In “Dynamics of Living”, Charles Fillmore writes

With our conscious mind we establish our relationship with the outer realm and recognize our individual entities.  It is that phase of mind
in which one is actively aware of one’s thoughts. It is the mind through which we establish our identity.

With current perceptions, thoughts, and feelings settled in our conscious mind, let’s step into the subconscious mind.  The
subconscious aspect of our mind is the storehouse of all the past thoughts and experiences we have had in life, as well as
our perceptions of those experiences.  Remember burning our hand on the oven?  That registers in our subconscious mind
as a painful experience which we associate with the heat of the oven.  This memory reminds us to stay away from the hot
oven in the future. We begin to use caution as we are near a hot oven.

Our subconscious mind does not generate thoughts; rather, it is a receptacle from both our conscious mind and our
superconscious mind.  It is our subconscious mind that reminds our conscious mind that hot ovens are dangerous to our
safety.  This aspect of the subconscious mind reminds me that it is so very important for us to be aware of our conscious
thoughts that we entertain, as they will create the response patterns of our future.

Practicing self-awareness affords us the ability to notice our habitual responses to life’s experiences.  With time and mindful
efforts to reprogram the subconscious mind with behaviors of our choosing, we claim our power to determine the meaning
of life.   When life doles out lemons, we can choose a refreshingly yummy glass of lemonade.   We are poised to see God’s
presence, the good in our life’s experiences.  Thus is the power of our thoughts today and far into our future.
The aspect of our superconscious mind is the realization of spiritual Truth.  In “Atom-Smashing Power of Mind”, Charles
Fillmore says:

The superconscious mind is the realm of divine ideas.  Its character is impersonal.  It, therefore, has no personal ambition; knows no
condemnation; but is always pure, innocent, loving…

The superconscious is the I Am, our Christ consciousness, the Truth of who we really are.  This is the realm of our divine
inspiration.  This phase of mind has the ability to inform both our subconscious and conscious mind.  As we allow our
conscious mind to be inspired with divine ideas, we move in the world from our Truth rather than from false beliefs.  Our
subconscious mind is cleared of false beliefs, thoughts, and feelings by the transformative power of Divine Ideas of the
superconscious mind.

Meditation and contemplative prayer are excellent ways for us to access the superconscious realm of mind and to
consciously incorporate the wisdom gained while gifting ourselves time in the silence.

While we access divine inspirations through meditations that allow the superconscious mind to connect with conscious
mind, the work of transformation occurs within the space of the subconscious mind - the place that guides our responses to
everyday living.

There is much to experience when we access the realms of our mind within Divine Mind.  How we grow in spiritual
consciousness, as we access each aspect of mind, is our choice as we invoke our power of free will.
