The Trinity of Trinities – part two

Last week I wrote about the Trinity of God that is: Mind, Idea, Expression (see “I’ve been thinking…” June 30, 2021).  Today I share a few words about the trinity of humans which is spirit, soul, body.  I call upon the words from Heart-Centered Metaphysics to explain:

When questions arise, the answers are processed in the following ways:
The body provides answers by learning information from the five senses.
The soul provides answers using intellect and reason.
The Spirit provides quick and sure answers through inspiration and intuition.

We live this human experience in the physical form of our body which is as unique as each individual.  We, in Unity believe that we are not this body rather our body is the container of our divine essence as we travel the earthly plane.  This physical form does not separate us from God, instead, God is made manifest through us in physical form.  In “The Twelve Powers”, Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore says:

In the body, conclusions are reached through experience; in intellect, reason is the assumed arbiter of every question; in Spirit, intuition and inspiration bring the quick and easy answer to all problems of life.

When we cultivate our thinking mind and emotions in spiritual ways, we add soul to our consciousness. We approach life from our thinking and feeling natures.  This development of the soul is a natural progression that happens without force or willfulness. Instead, it is the gentle unfolding of our consciousness as we focus our thinking and being on the spiritual nature of our existence.

As we continue our journey of understanding and spiritual expansion, we develop the capacity to live more and more frequently from our heightened spiritual consciousness. We respond to the world from our divine awareness rather than the limitations of our human senses.  We approach life from the awareness of Divine Presence in all people and in all experiences.  As we slow our doing and shift to being, we gain clarity of the spiritual aspect of life.  We may begin the activity of Divine Presence in all of our life.  We certainly will have endless opportunities to grow in our spiritual maturity as each day comes and goes. As we purposefully live from our divine consciousness we recognize Spirit as us and as all beings.

Charles Fillmore says “…We can truthfully say that everyone is a spiritual being”.   We claim our spiritual heritage and live into the divinity of our true nature realizing it is a process and practice to live as a spiritual being.  Rev. Eric Butterworth says “Spirit in you, is you.  You are Spirit.  It is the whole of you which you may be expressing in part”.

Conscious devotion to our thoughts, words, and actions through prayer, meditation, and contemplation assures us that we are continuing to growing in Spirit.

Much love and many blessings,
Rev. Karen
