Next Question

“As soon as I work through this, everything will be ok”. “When I find the lesson in this, everything else will make sense.” “Just as soon as I master this one last thing, I can master the rest of my life.”
Not only have I heard these words from others, I have used some of these words myself at times in my life. Sometimes it feels as though if we have just one more piece of the puzzle, then everything will make sense and we can continue happily on our way. Sometimes it feels as though there is only one missing piece to the entire mystery and meaning of a life experience. Sometimes it feels that if one question is answered, then all of life will make sense.

What if it doesn’t? What if another question lies beyond the answer and another question after that?
Is it possible to become comfortable living in the question rather than settling for an easy answer or the first answer. As a child, I would rather do anything than sit at a desk figuring out problems. Sitting at a desk felt more like punishment than a good learning environment. Don’t get me wrong. I loved to learn new things and I still do. I was made to run and climb and roll in the grass. I was made to be in motion. Today, I honor the kinesthetic learner in me. I was made to be whatever my imagination led me to be on any given day. You can imagine what a parent or teacher’s night was like for me. “If I could just get her to sit still!” was the common theme throughout my elementary school years.

You may be challenged, as I sometimes am, to remain in the space of unknowing, of not having the answer, or of not settling for the first answer. The first answer, the simplest and most obvious, may not be the full answer. The first answer may only skim the surface of life’s complexities.
Allowing time for quiet contemplation each day may sound impossible, yet we know that taking time to focus our thoughts toward that power that moves within all the universe is where the deepest, truest, most thought out answers to life’s questions are held.

Rather than being satisfied with the first answer, ask again and again and yet one more time. What else might I know? What else would like to be revealed? Is there more for me to know? By using deep inquiry, we may gain deep insights that take us on mystical, magical journeys into the deepest awareness in life.
Oh I can hardly wait for the next exquisite adventure to begin!

Sunday, we conclude the month long study of The Humor of Christ. Please join me at 11:00 for our Celebration Service. It really isn’t the same without you!
I also hope to see you Saturday for LET’S TALK ABOUT IT! This Saturday we will gather in Samoan Circle to talk and listen about religion. After our conversation, we will enjoy lunch together.

Blessings and Love,
PS Please think of me as I prepare to go to Unity the first week of March or my third Field Licensing Intensive. I shall be sitting still at a table in a chair for hours each day!
