Healing Trauma: Grief Don’t Do it Alone, but do it within a Social Collective.
Social Engagement-Polyvagal Neurophysical Danica Anderson, PhD, Social Scientist, Trauma Expert
This intensified learning workshop will include sensorimotor cultural movement activities regarding grief. The neurobiology of grief in the social engagement nervous system intently listens to voice intonation and reads facial movements. Grief requires social engagement within social collectives - circles to bring homeostasis to our life experiences with grief. More importantly, social engagement flourishes an environment of connection and safety for sharing and moving through grief stages. It requires us to grieve in a sharing social collective that can harbor safety for our most vulnerable feelings of loss.
Dr. Danica Borkovich Anderson founded and directs The Kolo: Women’s Cross Cultural Collaboration (The Kolo: WCCC) focusing on intersecting women’s trauma healing issues through women’s collaboration, representation, and advocacy for social justice to halt violence against women internationally and nationally.
